President's office requests removal of underwater sculptures

President's Office has asked Ministry of Tourism to facilitate the removal of underwater sculptures at Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi.
A tweet posted by the Spokesperson of President's Office Ibrahim Muaz Ali stated tourism ministry, President's Office and the management of the resort have begun efforts to remove the sculptures following significant public sentiment against the installation of underwater sculptures at Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi. President's office has given a period of 24 hours to remove the sculptures.
The world renowned resort chain, Fairmont Maldives Sirru Fen Fushi inaugurated the world's first ever coralarium with sculptures designed by a globally renowned eco-artist. Following concerns over the sculptures, some religious scholars have advised the government to remove the art gallery. Moreover, public posed questions over the issue expressing concern whether a resort with opposition influence unveiled such a gallery coinciding with the election to defame the government.
