Presidential candidacy nomination of MDP approved

Elections Commission of Maldives has accepted the candidacy of the presidential candidate of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).
Despite commenting the current elections commission is unfair and that no candidate from MDP will run for presidency, the presidential candidate of MDP Ibrahim Solih submitted his candidacy nomination on July 26. The elections commission revealed the nomination of MDP presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and running mate Faisal Naseem have been accepted. Seven prospective candidates have collected application forms from the commission, according to elections commission.
The electoral body have opened nomination submissions until August 10.
