Women & democracy holds training programme

A non-governmental organisation in Maldives, Women and Democracy has held a special training programme focused in enhancing women's role in the political arena.
The three-week training programme was participated by around 50 women. The training programme was held in eight modules, with educational 11 sessions and other sessions of important topics such as actively involving in politics, according to Women and Democracy.
The aim of the organization is to increase the amount of training programmes held focused on women, President of Women and Democracy Safaath Ahmed revealed speaking with PSM News. Safaath revealed plans to hold further training programmes in the coming years.
The training programme held in Maldives is supported by the Canadian High Commission and is aimed to advance women's leadership and political empowerment within the Maldives.
Established in 2016, Women and Democracy works towards women's economic and political participation and good democratic governance.
