Maldives has held activities to celebrate PADI's Women's Dive Day.
PADI Women's Dive Day is an initiative to encourage more women into the sport of scuba diving, either on a recreational level or professionally. Maldives celebrated the PADI Women's Dive Day in a diving activity held with 50 women divers.
The activity initiated by Moodhu Goyye was participated by 50 divers PADI certified women divers, five instructors and four dive masters. Moodhu Goyye revealed the aim of the association is to increase the number of certified women divers in the Maldives.
This year marks the fourth anniversary of this special day for women in diving. The idea of marking the day is not only to reduce the gender gap in diving but in doing so getting more people actively diving, therefore creating more stewards of the ocean.
