Gender Ministry attends 174 cases in June

Ministry of Gender and Family has received and attended a total of 174 cases in June 2018, including several cases of violence against children, child rights violations and family issues. Gender ministry attended a total of 79 cases reported regarding violence against children, which amounts to 45% of the total cases received and attended in June, according to statistics.
Gender ministry stated the most frequently reported cases involve cases of negligence, of which 25 cases were reported in June, adding other complaints of violence against children include 18 cases of physical violence, 18 cases of sexual abuse, 5 cases of witness to domestic violence, 5 cases of emotional abuse, 4 cases of child abandonment, 2 cases of exploitation and 2 cases of bullying and harassment.
Meanwhile, a total of 7 cases were reported and attended by the ministry regarding child rights violations in June. The reports include 3 cases of violation of right to health care, 2 cases of denial of birth registration and 2 cases of refusal for access to education, added Ministry.
Moreover, a total of 22 cases were reported and attended as family issues in June, which amounts to 13% of the total cases received and attended while reports include 12 cases of parenting issues and 10 custody related cases, according to statistics.
Since 2013, the gender ministry has taken a keen and a bold interest in addressing and solving gender and child related cases that are reported.
