Minister of Health Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim has revealed Dharumavantha Hospital will be in operation in September.
Speaking to media after visiting the Dharumavantha Hospital work site, health minister Abdulla Nazim stated some services will be made available from the hospital in September. Noting the government had previously announced the hospital will begin its services on July 26, health minister Nazim said the inauguration of the most modern healthcare facility in the country has been postponed due to the delay in bringing machinery to Maldives.
The development of the hospital is progressing rapidly, even though the government has not officially decided a date to inaugurate the facility, according to the health minister. Moreover, the minister stated quality services will be available from the hospital, while most of the services are completely new to Maldives.
The government decided to construct a 25-storey hospital to provide rapid services and to introduce new services which are currently not available from Maldives. The government aims to ease the expenses on health services by Maldivians upon the completion of the Dharumavantha Hospital.
