5th training programme of Islamic Capital Market commences

The fifth training programme of Islamic Capital Market has commenced in Maldives.
The training programme will be held from June 25-27 by Capital Market Development Authority (CMDA) in collaboration with Islamic Research and Training Institute of Islamic Development Bank (IDB). The main aim of the programme is to create awareness in the business sector about Islamic capital market and Islamic products.
Moreover, the basics of Islamic capital market and Islam banking will be discussed in the programme. In this regard, the regulatory process of Islamic financial services, Sharia compliance liquidity management and the challenges faced in the Islamic capital market will be discussed in the programme.
CEO of CMDA Nadhiya Hassan said over 100 participants have been trained in the programmes in the past and that Islamic capital market is becoming well-known in the world. Training Maldivians in the sector is significant to the society of Maldives, according to Nadhiya.
A total of 34 participants from financial institutes and the educational sector will take part in the three-day programme, according to CMDA. The participants will be trained by Dr. Osman Babikir of Islamic Research and Training Institute and by Dr. Aishath Muneeza, who is a pioneer of Islamic banking and finance industry.
