Ministry of Education has stated approximately 63,000 tablets will be distributed to the students from schools all over Maldives as part of the school digitalisation programme initiated by the government.
A total of 77,000 tablets will be distributed to teachers and students under the programme, according to Education Ministry. Moreover, it has received 50,000 of the 63,000 tablets to be distributed to the students, according to the Ministry and added work is currently underway to finalise the distribution process.
Furthermore, Education Ministry stated teachers will be able to utilise the tablets in classrooms, when the second term of the academic year commences on June 18. Prior to the distribution of the tablets, the Ministry has provided high-speed internet in all the schools and has established a special mechanism to monitor the usage of the Wi-Fi networks in schools.
