Maldives has participated in the 5th China South Asia Exposition held in Kunming City. The 5th China-South Asia Expo, which lasts from June 14 to June 20, is held at Kunming, Dianchi International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
With 19 pavilions, more than 80 countries and regions are participating in the fair. The annual China South Asia Expo, also known as Kunming Fair is held aiming to enhance the economy of South Asian countries and to enable marketing of local products.
The Maldivian delegation attending the fair this year is headed by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development Adam Thaufeeq. The fair as an opportunity to market Maldivian products and to develop small businesses, Deputy Minister Adam Thaufeeq described speaking to PSM News. It is important to market local products in such fair while government made tremendous efforts to develop small and medium-sized enterprises, he noted.
This is the third consecutive year of Maldives is participating in Kunming Fair.
