Ministry of Education has completed distribution of tablets to all teachers of Maldives, as part of the school digitalisation programme initiated by the government.
Education Ministry commenced the distribution of tablets on May 21. The tablets have been handed over to teachers across Maldives, according to Education Ministry. In this regard, more than 8,445 tablets were distributed to school teachers. In efforts to digitalise the education system of Maldives, Education Ministry established a special mechanism to monitor the usage of Wi-Fi networks utilised by tablets.
While the Ministry aims to distribute 77,000 tablets to teachers and students under the project, 20,000 tablets have now been brought to Maldives. Education Ministry states teachers will utilise the tablets in teaching with the commencement of the second term of the academic year.
