State Trading Organisation (STO) has initiated the establishment of a healthcare institute in Maldives.
Under the initiative, STO signed with an international company, GE Healthcare Worldwide. The agreement was signed by the Managing Director of STO Ahmed Shaheer and the Head of Education Solution and Customer Engagement of GE Healthcare Worldwide Marutha Sethia.
STO prioritises providing better healthcare facilities in Maldives adding they also attach high importance to building human resources in sector, Managing Director Shaheer said speaking at the signing ceremony. Moreover, healthcare will not be enhanced, with only machineries, but also with better human resources, Marutha Sethia said at the ceremony.
After the establishment of the healthcare institution, X-ray technicians will be trained along with staff and programmes to familiarise them to the latest equipment.
