Government contracts Kuredu Holdings to develop Madivaru Airport

The government of Maldives contracts Kuredu Holding Private Limited to develop a domestic airport in Madivaru of Lhaviyani Atoll. The agreement was signed by Minister of Tourism Moosa Zameer and Chairman of Kuredu Holdings Private Limited Mohamed Moosa.
The development of an airport in Lhaviyani Atoll will boost the economic and the tourism sector in the region, Tourism Minister Moosa Zameer revealed speaking after signing the ceremony. The Minister further added better transportation facilities will benefit the people of Madivaru.
Under the agreement, Kuredu Holdings Private Limited will invest to develop a domestic airport with a 1.2 kilometre runway and would complete the project within a year. The government has also contracted Kuredu Holdings to develop a city hotel in the island.
