World Health Assembly concludes in Geneva

The 71st World Health Assembly has concluded with the active participation of Maldives.
Maldives co-sponsored three side events which were concluded with successful discussions, at the 71st World Health Assembly. Further, during the assembly, Maldives urged World Health Organisation to give the highest priority to support member states to carry out implementation of the guidance on ending the inappropriate promotion of foods for infants and young children. Maldives also called for innovative funding mechanisms and collaborative partnerships to reach targets of WHO End TB Strategy by 2022.
Maldives also revealed it is committed to work with all partners and stakeholders to make tangible differences in addressing the health impacts of climate change, not just for Small Island Developing States, but for all vulnerable populations around the world.
The 71st World Health Assembly was held in Geneva, Switzerland from May 21-26.
