Ministry of Education has begun distributing tablets to teachers of schools in atolls, as part of the school digitalisation programme initiated by the government of Maldives.
Efforts to ship the tablets needed for teachers in atolls have now begun, revealed Education Ministry, adding some shipments have been received by schools. In this regard, Education Ministry said tablets are being distributed to teachers in schools of Haa Alifu, Haa Dhaalu, in addition to schools in Addu city and Fuvahmulah city.
The school digitalisation programme began with the distribution of tablets to teachers in Iskandar School on May 21. The distribution was expanded by with the Ministry handing over 117 tablets to teachers in Male', Hulhumale' and Villimale'. There are over 8,000 teachers across Maldives, according to statistics.
Education Ministry established a special mechanism to monitor the usage of Wi-Fi networks utilised by tablets handed over to the students.
