National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC) and Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) have signed a memorandum of understanding to work together and assist in disaster preparedness and response. The agreement was signed by the Minister of State for NDMC Mohamed Zuhair and Managing Director of MACL Adil Moosa.
Every gateway of the country prioritises the security of its passengers and staff noting that security of Velana International Airport will be enhanced under the signed agreement, Managing Director of MACL Adil Moosa said speaking after the ceremony.
NDMC said many training and sensitization programmes will be conducted jointly by NDMC and MACL to aware the staff and citizens of the country regarding disasters. The signed memorandum will strengthen the existing partnership between MACL and NDMC, especially in terms of technical knowledge sharing, capacity building, staff development and resource sharing, according to MACL.
