The Rector of Islamic University of Madinah Dr. Hatim bin Al Marzuki has called on President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
During the meeting, discussions were held on the importance of countering radicalisation and the key role education can play in preventing radicalisation. The Rector highlighted efforts by the University, within its curriculum, to curb radicalisation and pointed to opportunities at the university for Maldivian students to enroll in programmes in technical disciplines, such as engineering. The Rector further congratulated President Yameen on the development achieved by Maldives under the President's economic agenda.
The President was accompanied at the call by Chancellor of Islamic University of Maldives Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed.
