Tourist arrivals increase 17% in March 2018

Tourist arrivals have increased 18.5% in March 2018 compared to the same month of last year.
A total of 466,133 tourists arrived in Maldives in March 2018, according to statistics of Ministry of Tourism. This is recorded as an increase of 18.5% compared to the same month of last year. In March 2017, tourist arrivals amounted to 665,112.
Tourist arrivals from most markets increased in comparison to last year, according to statistics. While arrivals from European market increased 33%, there was an increase of 11.4% from Africa. Moreover, tourist arrivals from America increased 24% and all other markets saw an increase of 10.5%.
However, tourist arrivals from Asia and Pacific region decreased in March 2018, according to the statistics.
