Acting Managing Director of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) Haris Mohamed has revealed the support of local exhibitors participating in the Arabian Travel Mart this year will increase the tourist arrivals from the Middle East.
Ministry of Tourism, MMPRC and other private entities have exerted major efforts to advertise the tourism sector by giving a global exposure in various fairs around the world, the acting Managing Director of MMPRC said in an exclusive interview with PSM News after the briefing session. In this regard, Haris noted this year has been one of the most successful years in carrying out advertising and promotional activities of the tourism industry of Maldives.
Continuing on, Haris Mohamed highlighted various activities are scheduled to be conducted during the four-day Arabian Travel Mart scheduled to be held at Dubai. On this note, Haris said the number of exhibitors representing Maldives has increased by a huge margin this year and expressed the positive end effects would be witnessed in the number of tourist arrivals from Middle East.
The Arabian Travel Mart would be held from April 22 to 25 at the International Convention and Exhibition Centre of World Trade Centre of Dubai and would see the participation of over 60 companies and 126 officials representing Maldives. The Maldivian stall would organise special specials activities such as sessions to disseminate information of Maldivian tourism sector to international media outlets and companies and would also provide the visitors to witness the natural beauty using the virtual reality technology. In addition, some cultural and traditional activities are also scheduled to be showcased throughout the fair.
The Maldivian delegation at the Arabian Travel Mart would be led by Minister of Tourism Moosa Zameer, who will be accompanied by Ambassador of Maldives to UAE Dr. Hussain Niyaz and a team of MMPRC.
