Maldives strongly condemns chemical attack in Eastern Ghouta, Syria

The Government of Maldives has strongly condemned the chemical attack in Eastern Ghouta, Syria on Saturday, which killed a number of innocent women and children.
Videos released on the internet purport to show bodies of men, women and children, some of them with foam at the mouth, after a chemical attack against a besieged rebel-held town in Syria where medical aid groups reported dozens of people were killed by poison gas. One video released on social media shows a room full of bodies lying still and pale on the floor. A joint statement by the medical relief organisation Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS) and the Civil Defence Service, which operates in rebel-held areas, said 49 people had died in the attack in the town of Douma.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that Maldives commits to the efforts of the international community to stop such horrific acts and ensure peace and security for all.
