President forms National Investment Management Company

The government of Maldives has established new company to manage investments in the country. The company formed by a Presidential Decree is named the "National Investment Management Company".
The National Investment Management Company is tasked with securing investments, bringing investments in to the country and working to maximise the benefits of investments. The company must also support Islamic Finance, Conventional Finance and the introduction of new products to Maldives.
In addition, the new company will also survey the developments of world economy and the affects of changes in world economy to current investments in Maldives.
National Investment Management Company is a 100% state-owned company with a capital of USD 324,550.
President formed the company on April 5.
