Pakistani army chief to visit Maldives on March 30

Embassy of Pakistan in Maldives reveals that Army Chief of Pakistan General Qamar Javed Bajwa will visit Maldives on invitation of Chief of Defence Force of Maldives Major General Ahmed Shiyam.
The Army Chief of Pakistan would be visiting Maldives from March 30 to April 1, according to a statement released by the Pakistani Embassy in Maldives. During his visit, General Bajwa would hold discussions on matters of professional interests with his counterpart Major General Ahmed Shiyam.
In addition, the Pakistani Army Chief is expected to call on political and military hierarchy including President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohamed Asim and Minister of Defence and National Security Adam Shareef Umar.
During these meetings, issues related to regional security and matters pertaining to mutual interests would be discussed. During his visit the Pakistani Army Chief would attend a reception hosted by Chief of Defence Force where he would interact with military officers.
