Criminal court remands Ali Hameed until end of investigation

Criminal Court has remanded Supreme Court Justice Ali Hameed, until the end of the investigation into his alleged involvement in the coup attempt.

Prosecutors have raised three major charges against Ali Hameed which include terrorism, obstruction of justice and accepting bribes. 

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Prosecutor General's Office revealed that Maldives Police Service has obtained evidence regarding Ali Hameed's involvement in influencing the rulings of the Supreme Court by accepting bribes.

Ali Hameed is one of the nine individuals that have been charged with terrorism in connection with the alleged coup attempt.
