President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has appointed Ibrahim Uvais as Ambassador of Maldives to Japan.
President Yameen presented the letter of appointment to the new Ambassador, at a ceremony held at the President's Office.
The position of Ambassador of Maldives to Japan was previously filled by Mohamed Hussain Shareef, who is currently the Ambassador of Maldives to Sri Lanka.
