Health Protection Agency (HPA) has adviced to stay cautious over possible viral fever and contagious diseases that may spread due to the current weather of Maldives.
HPA informed to refrain from sending students to school if they are diagnosed with any contagious diseases such as chicken pox, common cold or conjunctivitis, in a statement issued advising to stay cautious. HPA advised to stay hygienic at all times and to pay extra attention if diagnosed with fever or a contagious disease. Keeping hands clean through improved hand hygiene is one of the most important steps that can be taken to avoid getting sick and spreading germs to others, according to the statement.
HPA also asked to cover the mouth when sneezing and coughing and added to avoid public gatherings. The statement released by the agency advised citizens to be vigilant of the symptoms of the diseases and to seek medical attention as soon as possible.
