PSM launches FIFA World cup 2018 coverage show

Public Service Media (PSM) has launched the official coverage show of FIFA World Cup 2018. The official coverage show was launched by Minister of Tourism Moosa Zameer.

The world cup coverage would be provided to all Maldivians in a grander scale this year, Tourism Minister Moosa Zameer said addressing the ceremony. Minister Zameer highlighted the dozens of football and futsal grounds established for youth and noted the efforts of the government to develop sporting facilities in the country. The Minister applauded the prominent role of PSM in the development of the tourism and the economic sector of the country.

The launch of the coverage show outlines the preparedness for the mega event, Deputy Managing Director of PSM Mohamed Ikram Abdul Latheef stated addressing the ceremony. Ikram revealed the coverage was an initiative of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and noted the coverage would have various interesting segments for the public.

The analyst panel of the coverage show of the tournament consists of famous Maldivian football coaches, popular former national team players and journalists.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup is a quadrennial international football tournament contested by the men's national teams of the member associations of FIFA. The next edition is scheduled to take place in Russia from 14 June to 15 July 2018.
