Government of Maldives has commenced project to establish a sewerage system in Nolhivaranfaru of Haa Dhaalu atoll. The project was inaugurated by the Minister of Environment and Energy Thoriq Ibrahim.
The project funded by OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) and Government of Maldives is worth over USD 2.8 million. The project is contracted to Sierra Maldives Private Limited to be completed in a period of 468 days.
Under the project, a sewerage network system and a sewerage treatment plant would be established in the island, according to Environment Ministry.
