Minister of Environment and Energy Thoriq Ibrahim has stated the administration would not allow the opposition to hinder the developmental pace of the country by any cost.
No previous administration has focused on the development of the rural island of the country but President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has broken the norm by introducing major developmental projects across the Maldives, Environment Minister Thoriq said addressing the ceremony held to inaugurate the project to establish a sewerage system in Nolhivaranafaru of Haa Dhaalu Atoll.
The Minister highlighted that President Yameen would always stay committed in serving for the benefit of the nation rather than the benefit of selected individuals. In this regard, Minister Thoriq noted the efforts of the oppositional alliance to defame and tarnish the image of the country has not succeeded due to the great support provided by the citizens of the country.
The government plans to establish a reverse osmosis facility in Nolhivaranfaru Island later this year, according to the Minister.
