Managing Director of State Trading Organization (STO) Ahmed Shaheer said Maldives has made it to the top of the race of development by pacing on par with fast developing countries in the world.
Speaking on "The Dialogue" programme aired on PSM News, the Managing Director of STO said the success of a nation is reflected and scaled on the economic development. In this regard, Ahmed Shaheer revealed that President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has excelled all other political leaders of the country by bringing the much needed development to the county.
Highlighting on the bolt speed progress of business entities in Maldives in the past 4 years, Ahmed Shaheer noted the President has been successful in boosting the GDP per capita from USD 6,000 to USD 9000. Shaheer applauded the administration for its strategic approach in developing the country by boosting the involvement of youth and small and medium scale business entrepreneurs. He cited the administration has been successful in creating a record breaking amount of job opportunities in the country.
The Managing Director concluded by stating the administration is establishing business centres in various parts of the country to boost the business sector by introducing various small and medium business entities.
