Minister of Economic Development Mohamed Saeed has revealed the core objective of the administration in bringing major developmental projects to Maldives is to clear the passage for economic development for future generations.
Maldives has lagged behind in development due to inconsequential developmental plans executed by the previous administrations, the Economic Minister cited speaking on The Dialogue programme aired on PSM News. In this regard, Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed highlighted that Maldives has lagged behind in fields such as human recourses, Information technology and construction due to wage development plans executed by previous administrations.
The Minister said some previous leaders have taken steps which have negatively impacted the Maldivian economy and prompted the deterioration of the economy. On this note, he highlighted the administration had to take firm and strategic steps to stabilise and develop the economy.
