Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has received over USD 64 million as revenue in February this year. The income of over USD 64 million in February this year is an increase of 19.4%, year on year, according to MIRA.
The authority credited the increase to the boost in the amounts received as Goods and Services Tax (GST), Business Profit Tax (BPT), Green Tax and Airport Development Fee (ADF). MIRA generated USD 38 million as TGST, USD 13 million as GST, USD 5 million as BPT, USD 5 million in Green Tax and USD 4 million dollars as ADF. MIRA produced an income that exceeded February estimates by 27.9%.
MIRA attributed the increase in income to the increase in number of tourist arrivals during February.
