President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has stated that it is an important national duty to instil patriotism in all of our hearts, especially in the hearts of the youth and children. The President made this statement in his National Patriotism Day message. The National Patriotism Day is celebrated on the 6th of March.
The future belongs to the youth, and underscored the importance of ensuring them to be a patriotic, and freedom-loving generation who will defend our Maldivian individuality, the President noted in his message. He noted that this would flourish national spirit among the youth and children, and produce a loyal generation to serve the country.
As the country celebrates its National Patriotism Day, the President urged everyone, especially the management of all schools to focus on boosting patriotism among the younger generations, and conducting special awareness programmes.
