Nomination opportunity opens for National Awards

The National Awards Committee has opened nominations for this year's National Awards. Recipients of this year's National Awards will be awarded at the official Independence Day function.

Similar to previous years, government offices, independent institutions, companies, associations, and individuals can propose nominations for the awards through appropriate government agencies, and by submitting the designated nomination forms. Special importance will be given to categories created for women and youth in line with the administration's pledge to encourage further empowerment and opportunity for skilled individuals in different sectors, according to the National Awards Committee.

Within these categories, awards will be presented to youth aged 18 to 35 years and women who have, for minimum 5 years, made invaluable national contributions. The National Awards Committee revealed that some changes have been brought to the categories and application form for this year's National Awards.

The deadline for submitting the completed nominations forms is April 15, and should be addressed to the respective Committee, as per information provided by the Committee. The nomination forms are available from the President's Office during official work hours, and can be downloaded via www.presidencymaldives.gov.mv. The National Awards Committee also revealed that nominations for the Special Achievement Award will open during the next month.
