China downgrades travel advisory issued on Maldives to an alert

China has downgraded the travel advisory issued on Maldives following the declaration of State of Emergency on February 5.

A top Official of the Chinese Embassy in Maldives  told PSM News the travel advisory issued following the declaration of State of Emergency has been replaced with an alert with lesser restrictions. The travel advisory was issued to Maldives in whole, while the alert was issued for the Greater Male' Area, after assessing the situation, according to the Chinese Embassy in Maldives.

The alert will be in effect till March 22, according to the Chinese Embassy.
