Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Authority has opened registrations for 6 new courses.
These new courses were designed based on popular demand, according to TVET. The Authority revealed that these courses aim to boost the number of locals engaged in sectors which are currently dominated by expatriates. The new courses include; teaching sports, radiology, laboratory technology, beauty therapy, gardening and landscaping and sound engineering.
In an interview with PSM News, Director of TVET authority Aminath Asra said that the authority is exerting extensive efforts to create additional opportunities for Maldivians in fields such as tourism, construction and traveling, as per information provided by TVET Authority.
In this regard Asra said that they have planned courses targeting primary grade students later this year, which would assist them at home and in carrying out some simple chores.
