Tree Top Hospital has begun its official operations as the first multi-specialist health care facility in the Maldives.
The services of the state of the art health care facility is introduced in 4 different phases and 23 services available for patients, according to Tree Top Hospital. The facility commenced with a bed capacity of 170 beds and would have 80 specialist doctors from 35 countries, the hospital revealed.
The Tree Top Hospital has introduced emergency services, gynecology, blood bank, dental physiotherapy and laboratory services under the first phase. Appointments for specialist and super-specialist doctors are available for a charge of about USD 50, while Maldivians would receive a 30 percent discount, as per information provided by the health care facility.
Turkey-based Alke-Turmacs was contracted to design and develop the tertiary level hospital in Hulhumale' with Ramsay Sim Darby of Malaysia contracted to manage the hospital. The 6-storey Tree Top Hospital was developed along with an 8-storey support building which would have a staff accommodation block.
