President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has appointed Ahmed Sulaiman as a member of the National Integrity Commission (NIC). The letter of appointment was handed to Ahmed Sulaiman at a special function held at President's Office.
The Parliament of Maldives approved Ahmed Sulaiman as a member of NIC with 32 votes in favor. Sulaiman was appointed to the position made vacant by the resignation of Yoosuf Maaniu from the Commission.
Previously, Sulaiman served as the President of Elections Commissioner before resigning from the position on January 31.
