Ministry of Finance and Treasury has revealed plans to install Reverse Osmosis water systems in 12 islands.
The systems will be installed by Ministry of Environment and Energy and the project would be funded by a loan aid of OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID), according to Finance Ministry.
Finance Ministry said Reverse Osmosis water systems would be developed in Kumundhoo, Vaikaradhoo, Nolhivaram and Makunudhoo of Haa Dhaalu Atoll, Holhudhoo of Noonu Atoll and Inguraidhoo and Maakurathu of Raa Atoll in the first phase of the project.
The Ministry revealed that private companies can bid for the project under the International Competitive Bidding scheme.
