ACE urges to refrain from reporting unverified information

General Sales Agent of various airlines in Maldives, Ace Aviation Services Maldives urges general public and the local media to refrain from reporting unverified information in this critical time for the country.

ACE Aviation Services said a late departure from Colombo resulted in cancellation of the flight on February 26, in a statement issued clearing the incident of Sri Lankan Airlines flight UL 109. The Agency stated that UL 109 operated the next morning and arrived at Velana International Airport (VIA).

Furthermore, ACE Aviation assured that a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) have been provided to all relevant airlines with regard to the closure of VIA since March 31, 2016 from 0000hrs to 0600hrs, adding that Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) has been a very supportive stakeholder by informing all major updates constantly within its capacity.

Moreover, Ace Aviation called on the general public and the local media agencies to refrain from reporting incorrect and unverified information about flight operations while the country is experiencing political instability and expressed gratitude for the understanding and patience the customers have shown.
