Director of Tree Top Hospital Hussain Afeef has revealed the state of the art health care facility developed in Hulhumale' will be inaugurated on March 1.
The hospital would be the first ever multi-specialist hospital, and said specialist doctors from 35 countries would revolutionise the Maldivian health sector, Director Hussain Afeef noted at a press briefing. In addition, Hussain Afeef revealed the hospital was developed at a cost of USD 110 million and noted that it was the largest investment made by a private company to expand the health sector of Maldives. In this regard, he revealed the hospital does not intend to compete with other facilities and assured the hospital was developed to expand the scope in the health sector.
Turkey-based Alke-Turmacs was contracted to design and develop the tertiary level hospital in Hulhumale' with Ramsay Sim Darby of Malaysia contracted to manage the hospital. The 6-storey Tree Top Hospital was developed along with an 8-storey support building which would have a staff accommodation block.
