Maldives Police Service has announced that gatherings will not be allowed after 2230hrs.
Highlighting that the Police Service has received complaints over the ongoing protests in the capital Male’ that have caused chaos in the country, Spokesperson of Police Ahmed Shifan stated that it is one of main reason for the restrictions.
Spokesperson of Police said that complains were also filed at Maldives Police of the strife caused late at night assuring that no chance will be given to hold rallies in any part of the Capital. Ahmed Shifan noted that several dangerous activities are carried out when taking part in rallies such as using face masks to hide the face.
The Spokesperson added that it causes difficulty in maintaining internal peace in the country. He concluded by assuring that no political party would be exempt from the new rule.
