Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Maldives Integrated Tourism Development Corporation (MITDC) to provide temporary water and sewerage services during the development period of Laamu Baresdhoo Integrated Resort Island project. The memorandum was signed by Managing Director of MWSC, Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed and Managing Director of MITDC, Mohamed Shahid.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Ibrahim Fazul said MWSC will provide and manage total utility services at Baresdhoo for various commercial businesses and other activities while Managing Director of MITDC, Mohamed Shahid expressed that Baresdhoo Integrated Resort Island will cooperate with companies such as MWSC to make the project a success.
Under the memorandum, MWSC will design, supply, install and commission a temporary water system and temporary sewerage system at Baresdhoo, which is expected to be completed within 2 months. MWSC will also install a 50 tonne reverse osmosis plant and a 70 tonne water storage facility.
MWSC aims to complete the project, worth USD 97,365, within the next 30 to 40 days.
