Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has held a mass rallies to show the unwavering support to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
The rallies held in all parts of the Maldives saw party supporters driving around on motorbikes and pick-ups and walking declaring their support for the ruling party. The event in Male' city took place in Hulhumale’ Central Park where parliamentarians, cabinet ministers and supporters of President Yameen participated expressed their support.
The supporters that took part in the rally President Abdulla Yameen lauded the President for his patience and calmness in this critical time for the country. In this regard, supporters expressed that no chance will be given for opposition to undermine the government. Moreover, the supporters thanked President for his efforts to uphold the constitution.

The parliamentarians that took part in the rallies stated that a tweet or a statement of the opposition will not quaver the security forces of the country. Government officials joined the parliamentarians in assuring that the acts of opposition to undermine the security and peace of the country were unsuccessful and stated that it did not result in changes to the services rendered to tourists or public.
Furthermore, the supported applauded the development projects initiated by the President and cited that President Yameen has made living standards better for the citizens. The rally took place in all parts of the country simultaneously.
