Government gives utmost priority to safety of tourists

Ambassador of Maldives to United Kingdom Ahmed Shiaan has emphasised that Maldives is safe for tourists despite declaring State of Emergency for a period of 15 days.

In an interview to UK newspaper, The Independent, the Ambassador assured the importance given to the safety of tourists will not change in the coming days and noted the efforts of Maldivian Government to ensure the safety of tourists and other visitors to the Maldives.

The Ambassador cited that international airlines are operating as normal, reiterating that resorts are unaffected by the political situation.
