Nasheed's call for Indian intervention in very irresponsible

Minister of State for Health Dunya Maumoon has branded former President Mohamed Nasheed's call for India's military intervention to solve the situation in Maldives as irresponsible. Maldives is having a crisis and there are several issues that needs to be resolved, added the State Minister while speaking to The Indian Express, saying that she supported the State of Emergency as it was necessary.

State Minister Dunya called for peaceful dialogue between the Government and the opposition and mentioned that Maldives has seen a lot of destructive actions during the past few years. The State Minister upheld the statement of President Yameen regarding foreign intervention by saying that as a country, Maldives has to make decisions on its own to find a way to resolve the issues.

Noting that she is aware that there is concern because of the emergency, State Minister Dunya expressed that it was a necessity to declare State of Emergency in Maldives for the stability and security of the country. Dunya expressed hope that Maldives will quickly move to better times.
