By the power bestowed upon the President under Article 54 (b) of the Police Act President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has appointed Assistant Commissioner of Police Abdulla Nawaz to the post of Deputy Commissioner of Police.
The President has also assigned Deputy Commissioner of Police Abdulla Nawaz as the interim in-charge of the institution.
This follows the dismissal of Deputy Commissioner of Police Ahmed Saudhee from the position.
