Deputy Minister of Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure Abdulla Ziyad has stated the tertiary hospital developed in Addu city will be completed one month prior to the scheduled date.
The development of the hospital is progressing according to the schedule, Deputy Minister Abdulla Ziyad said in an exclusive interview with PSM News, after a site monitoring visit. The completion of the hospital will enhance the healthcare services available from the south of Maldives, according to the Deputy Minister.
The Maldivian Government aims to develop the Equatorial Convention Centre to a tertiary level hospital to provide optimum healthcare services to the residents living in the south of the country. On completion, the newly developed hospital will have a capacity of 100 beds.
The development of Addu City Tertiary Hospital is expected to cost approximately USD 21 million and has been contracted to Alia Construction Private Limited.
