Family Protection Authority (FPA) has revealed that 10 papers will be submitted to the National Conference on Research in Domestic Violence to be held from January 28-29. The two-day conference will include a series of sessions from professionals and experts in the field focusing on the theme, Protection.
Programme Research and Advocacy Department Director of FPA Zeenath Shakir stated that 10 papers were submitted to the authority on the opportunity given. All the papers will be presented and discussed broadly by the stakeholders and added the papers were comprised of interviews, discussions and after conducting researches with relevant authorities, according to Zeenath.
Three of the ten papers are solely prepared from FPA while other papers were prepared in affiliation with Care Society, Institute for Counseling and Psychotherapy, Transparency Maldives, Hope for Women and two individual experts. HPA notes the two-day conference would be an opportunity to widely discuss the issues regarding domestic violence and providing support for institutions to conduct research and surveys on the issues.
The conference will bring together key organisations and practitioners from across the country to share knowledge, experiences and challenges in addressing domestic violence and identify areas for collaboration and promoting comprehensive responses to all forms of domestic violence. The conference will provide an excellent platform to highlight the latest research, practical experience and innovation in domestic violence prevention, response and advocacy. The main aim of organising a national conference on domestic violence is to promote action to end violence against women and girls around the world.
