In an exclusive interview with PSM News, Ambassador of Maldives to European Union Ahmed Shiaan stated that a memorandum of understanding will be signed by a university of Maldives with some universities in European countries. Speaking about opportunities available for Maldivians in terms of higher education, Ambassador Shiaan assured that an agreement will be settled to ease the process and further increase opportunities.
Upon completion of some related researches, a memorandum of understanding to begin an exchange programme will be signed with some European universities, cited the Ambassador. Noting that some Maldivians attain higher education in Europe, the Ambassador said that opportunities are available in Europe for Maldivian students adding that works are being carried out to enhance educational opportunities.
In this regard, Ambassador Shiaan highlighted that discussions have been undertaken with four universities and the results are fruitful. Furthermore, Ambassador stated that priority will be given to seeking educational opportunities in areas which are most sought.
