Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has captured a fishing boat of Seychelles in the exclusive economic zone of Maldives. The fishing vessel named FV Wicked Tuna 01 was captured while it was travelling outbound 38 miles North of Kahdhoo Island in Laamu Atoll.
Citing the capture of the vessel, MNDF stated that the vessel was traveling from Sri Lanka to Port Victoria in Seychelles. MNDF said the vessel had 6 Sri Lankan nationals on board and the vessel had not received a permit from relevant authorities before it entered the exclusive economic zone of Maldives.
