President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom states that the target is to make 2018 the most successful year for the administration.
In his official statement released on the occasion of New Year 2018, President Abdulla Yameen extended New Year greetings to all Maldivians, and highlighted the successful achievements of the administration in realising its key pledges; noting that several developmental projects were commenced and completed across the country to fulfill the basic necessities of the Maldivian people. Additionally, the President highlighted the numerous measures taken in 2017 to promote youth empowerment, especially the increase in employment opportunities and educational opportunities facilitated by the administration.
Moreover, the President stated that the administration faced huge obstacles in leading the nation during the past 4 years, and that the administration has overcome most of them, and dealt with the challenges with resilience to be back on the route of success, while maintaining the current peace and stability in the country. In his message, the President has also stated that in light of the past 4 years, the administration will work on achieving more success and progress than the previous years, and noted that the budget passed by the Parliament for 2018 focuses on fulfilling the key pledges of the administration.
